Entered to the University of Moratuwa in 1992 and completed the B.Sc. in Engineering degree in 1995 with a 1st class. Then worked in the University of Moratuwa as a visiting demonstrator for a short period. After that I joined a private bank and work there as a management trainee for a short period. Then I joined the Star Garments (Pvt Ltd) as the group sample manager. Later in 1997 I joined the Open University of Sri Lanka as a Lecturer (probationary). In 1999 I completed the Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education (CTHE) from the University of Colombo. In 2002, I completed the M.Sc. in Textile & Apparel Technology from the University of Dresden, Germany with a 1st class. In 2006, I completed the PhD from the University of Dresden, Germany with a 1st class. From 2007, I work at the Dept. of Textile & Apparel Technology of the Open University of Sri Lanka as a Senior Lecturer.

Production systems in apparel industry, Studies related to the seams and stitches, Productivity improvements in the apparel Industry.

– Sri Lanka Standards Institution, 2008 – Member of the working group on spun polyester thread – National Institute of Education, 2008/9 ? Developed the syllabus and the teaching guide of the Technology subject in the A/L stream. – University of Moratuwa, 2008- Visiting lecturer for the subject Industrial Engineering of the program M.Sc. in Textile and Clothing Management. – University of Moratuwa, 2007/8- Visiting lecturer for the subject Technical Textiles of the program B.Sc. in Textile and Clothing Engineering. – Brandix College, 2008- Resource Person: in the subject areas of Cutting Room Management and Production systems.
