The Sahana Malla Programme is a special initiative created by the Centre for Environmental Studies and Sustainable Development (CESSD) at the Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) aimed at supporting our dedicated cleaning service staff. Through this programme, we provide essential grocery items to the cleaning staff recognizing their tireless efforts in maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and beauty of our university.
This programme is Conducted annually with generous contributions from OUSL staff, faculty members, and students. this initiative ensures that our cleaning staff and ther families have reliable access to basic grocery needs. The items provided include rice, sugar, lentils, and other essentials, helping these hardworking individuals maintain a balanced and nutritious diet.
In light of the financial challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, especially for those who work on a daily wage basis, the Sahana Malla Programme was conceived as a means to express our gratitude and provide meaningful support to the cleaning service staff and their families.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has contributed to this initiative. Your generosity has made a significant difference, reinforcing a sense of community and support at OUSL.
Sahana Malla 2024
Sahana Malla 2024 was successfully organized on the 4th of April 2024, with the generous contributions of numerous staff members from the Open University of Sri Lanka. A total of 47 cleaning staff members were provided with essential grocery items, including rice, sugar, lentils, noodles, salt, and other necessities.
Sahana Malla 2023
Sahana Malla 2023 programme was conducted on the 10th of April 2023 by donating essential grocessary items to cleaning staff of the Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL). This initiative successfully conducted with the generous contributions of the staffs and students of the OUSL.
