Certificate in Industrial Studies – Animal Husbandry and Aquaculture

The minimum duration of the certificate programme is one (01) year. Persons seeking admission should be 18 years old on the date of closing of applications and should have obtained 6 passes at the G.C.E O/L examination, including Mathematics, and is preferably involved in agriculture, animal rearing or fishing as a livelihood. Those who follow the programme will also be trained in a specified industry preferred by the student. This programme will be offered in all three languages – Sinhala, Tamil and English. It will only be offered at the Puttalam Study Centre and the Colombo Regional Centre.

Programme Content: Fundamentals of Biology, Methods of Increasing the Productivity of Farm Animals, Animal Husbandry, Fish and Shellfish Farming, Farm Practice, Integrated Farming Systems, Processing and Preserving of Farm Products
