I was graduated from The Open University of Sri Lanka in 1996 and completed the M.Sc. in Forestry (Major specialization–Environmental Forestry) from the University of Sri Jayawardanapura, Sri Lanka in 2000. In addition, completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Distance Education in Indira Gandhi National Open University, India in 2007. Subsequently, obtained Ph.D. on Carbon sink function

I graduated from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, following a B. Sc. (Special Degree in Botany) in 2009 and I joined the Department of Botany, University of Peradeniya as a Temporary demonstrator.
