IEEE is the world's largest professional association dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence for the benifit of humanity IEEE and its members inspire a global community through its highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, professional and educational activities.
IEEE student branch of the began in 2016 and we celebrate our 1st Anniversary this year. We are the 11th beginner out of 14 IEEE student branches in the IEEE Sri Lanka Section. In keeping with the vision of IEEE we have organized different events and activities. There are nearly 150 members has gathered with the OUSL IEEE Student Branch with in ten months. They undergraduates who are studying Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Software Engineering and Computer Science.
The primary purpose Student Branch is to promote education and research i all aspects of the theory and practice of Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics Engineering, Software Engineering, allied branches of engineering and the related Arts and Sciences we also work towards enhancing professional development of our members.
IEEEXtreme is a global challenge in which teams of IEEE students members-advised and proctored
by an IEEE member,
and often supported by an IEEE student branch-compete in a 24-hour time span against each other to solve a
set of programming
problems.

the IEEE Open Umiversity
of Sri lanka Student Branch.
